Well I guess I should elaborate on the missing Mirena. I found out today at my ultrasound and xrays that this is actually very common. I knew it CAN happen, but you obviously don't want to be the one it happens too. I guess that it can sometimes perforate through the uterus and into your body. I researched and found that when this does happen you generally experience severe abdominal pain and have infection like symptoms. I have not had either. Today the radiologist said that it is not uncommon to not have pain or other symptoms, but they can usually find it with an xray. Well I had a normal and vaginal ultrasound and couldn't see it. They sent me for xrays, took the first, came in and said they needed to get another. Then they sent me on my way and said they would get the results to me tonight or first thing in the morning instead of 2-3 days. I can only guess that this means 1 of 2 things...1. GOOD-it is not there which means my body rejected the foreign object, it passed on its own and I didn't notice this happening, or 2. BAD- they found it and now need to remove it surgically.

I will find out in the morning and update later.

There are many who use this method of birth control and have no problems what so ever. But just as with anything there are risks and I happen to have had this experience. Will I get another???? NOT A CHANCE!

On a side note: I know this is a bit of a weird topic to blog about, but this blog is my journal and something I wanted to remember.
