Baby Boston

Boston had his 2 week apt the other day and all went well. He is growing great. He now weighs 8lbs 9oz (40th percentile), is 21 3/4 in long (80th percentile), and his head is in the 40th percentile as well. He is super cute loves to be held and loved, and eat. His brothers are really good helpers with him too. Each one of them wants to hold him every chance they get. He had to have his circumcision today...very traumatic. We normally have this done before leaving the hospital after delivery, but because of the severe coombs jaundice we had to wait. Not FUN!! On the bright side we were able to get him off the lights today. We can now dress him, hold him and LOVE LOVE LOVE him.
Mason calls him the cutest things. His main name for Boston is "that guy". Mom that guy needs his..., can I hold that guy and so on. It is pretty funny and so adorable. When I tell him to say Boston he says "Brockston" and also calls him Preston (Meag and Chases baby). Love you Mason.
Grayson loves to hold him and tries hard to steal him out of our hands. He likes to really get him rocking in his swing and tries to feed him M&M's, nuts and whatever else he is eating. We tell him no and he screams at us SHARE! Lately I have had to hide Boston around the house in his car seat some hiding places include the far side of my bed, in my bathroom or closet, in the laundry room or other places so he can sleep. Otherwise he gets pulled out of his seat and it is not always pleasant. My boys are very careful and really love their brother. I just have to keep an eye on Gray.
I have been really impressed with Easton. He is a natural with him. He holds him and loves him and can soothe him almost as good as I can. He doesn't get intimidated when he cries and will hold him for hours...really. He is really good with him and LOVES to hold him and help me with him. He takes care of him while I shower or clean. He is a lifesaver and I am so glad he is so good with all the boys. It really comes natural to him.
We are having so much fun and so happy that we get to have this little blessing in our home. I am a pretty lucky lady to be surrounded by all these wonderful, helpful, handsome boys. They treat me like a princess and make me feel special.

Funny Easton

Every night after we put the kids to bed Easton comes out like 5 minutes later and says he has had a nightmare. He says he is soo scared and can't go to sleep. So last night we had a lengthy discussion as to why he is scared. He really had no reason at all. I told him to remember that Jesus and his angels watch over us and protect us and keep our homes and us safe. He looked at me and said in the most serious voice, "Mom no guess what I found out...", I said what, "Easton says, "Mom I found out that Jesus is dead. He is seriuosly dead mom, so he can't watch over us or protect us, he is dead." It was pretty cute. Love these boys and the things they say. They make me laugh every single day.
I know this is a funny picture and I posted it on purpose. He loves to pull faces in all his photos lately.

It's a BOY!!!

First picture after delivery
MY 5 boys...gorgeous!

LOVE THIS BABY BOY

4 days old and in the ER the night before thanksgiving
This little guy was born on Nov. 20th, 2010 at 5:37pm. Boston Richard Jones weighed 7 lbs 13oz and was 20.5 inches long. The labor was exactly how I wanted it to be. I have been dilating and thinning for quite some time. The week I delivered, Garet was in Canada on a hunting trip, and I was home trying not to have the baby until he got back. Well I did it! It is very hard when you are 37 weeks pregnant and ready to be in labor and instead of progressing it along you are trying to stop it. Garet came home on Nov. 20th at 4am. My water broke at 12noon. I didn't want to rush to the hospital because I wanted to progress on my own and didn't want any pitocin. We left the house at 2 and arrived to the hospital in slc at around 3:30pm. Upon check in I told the nurse I wanted to try to go natural IF I continued to progress on my own, didn't have to have pitocin to progress, and if the baby would turn to face down position. I definitely did not want to have the baby flipped while I was delivering. She tried hard to get me to commit to a natural delivery and I wanted to do it but there were so many considerations. When I checked in I was dilated to a 6 and thinned. The pain was totally manageable and the contractions were not too intense. at 5pm things started to change. The contractions and pain were SO INTENSE! I looked at Garet and was like I need help. In my mind I was thinking I still had hours to go and things were going to get much worse. He was asking what he could do to help and I was like I have no idea call your mom and get me an epidural in here asap. At this moment my doc. came in and I told her I needed help. Garet told them I wanted the epidural and the nurse looked at him in shock and said "you didn't tell her?" Then she looked at me and said "he is in a c-section there is no way you are getting an epidural." Garet had told me this, however all my labors have lasted 7-8hours so I thought I had plenty of time. My Doc. Gretchen looked at me calmly and said, "she can have one, don't worry you can have one." She knew I couldn't but didn't want to send me into hysteria. Then I told her I needed to get to the bathroom. She said do you feel like you need to push in your bottom? I was like yes...feeling embarrassed and dieing in pain. She said lets check you I think you are ready to go. And she was right. I was feeling so thankful because I knew I was at my limit. Thankfully the intense part was like 6 contractions and then I was ready to go. about 5 contractions later we had our baby. It was intense and very special and I am so happy I was able to have the experience. The question I am asked repeatedly is would you do it again? My answer... absolutely! It was magical.
So here we are home with our new baby and we love him SOOO much. He was born with Coombs Jaundice and has had to stay on the lights. I am grateful to have lights at home but it is hard not getting to hold and love him as much as we all want too. His bilirubin levels have gotten higher and higher and so I have to pump and feed him formula. On wed. night before thanksgiving his levels jumped to 19. My pediatrician sent us to the hospital to be admitted. About 5 hours after we checked in we were sent home. His levels had dropped to 15.7. What a blessing. We continued him on the lights Thursday and Friday they were still dropping...now 15.2. I hope they continue to drop and we can get him off the lights, start nursing, and hold and love our baby.
He sure is special and has been so good through all the poking, prodding, and not being able to be held much. We love him more than words can say and wouldn't have it any other way.

Halloween 2010

My moms ward Halloween party. Capt. America, Mickey Mouse, Zebra
Spiderman, Knight, Zebra

the above 2 are from shellees ward party. It was fun, we got to take Jason and sally (from new Zealand) with us. It was fun for them because they do not celebrate Halloween.

Halloween night, going trick or treating

I am finally getting around to our Halloween post. We had a lot of fun. No annual family Halloween party this year...big bummer. Therefore I didn't do a theme and Garet and I didn't dress up. We were the party poopers. The kids got into the dress up bin and chose what they wanted to be. It was fun to see what they were going to choose. Gray didn't really have a choice I chose for him and he looked so cute. We did go to my sisters ward Halloween party and my moms ward Halloween party. We were really lucky to have Grandma Kathy come and be with us Halloween night because Garet and Rulon were on a hunting trip.
Mason and Grayson were really into trick or treating. It was so cute. Mason jumped out of the car ran up to the door and yelled trick or treat, said thanks and then was telling me let's go to that house mom. It was raining so we decided to drive around. Grayson was a little slower getting out the door and to the door, but was SO cute saying trick or treat, kank you, and then he would stand there waving and saying bye, bye. Easton was more into answering the door at our house and seeing who it was that was there. Grandma Kathy gave us a trick bowl (hand in the bowl that moves when you try to grab a treat) and the boys thought it was "spooktackular". They really did scare a few trick or treaters.
We had a great Halloween. Lots of fun memories.

Baby update

37 weeks today...HOORAY! Time is passing so quickly and before you know it our new little one will be here. I went to the doc. today and have progressed to a 2.5 and thinned. Good progress. I have been taking it easy this week trying not to progress things along. And it worked! I know that sounds weird but when your husband is going to be out of the country for a week, especially the week when you have given birth to 2 other children, NOT having the baby becomes your first priority. So from now until Nov. 20th I am going to try to not have the baby. If it does happen though I have all of my family on call to assist and we will try to not have things happen until Garet can get to me. We looked into flights but the flight will take 12 hours which is how long it will take to drive home. So IF it happens and this baby decides to come he will drive as fast as he can. I feel pretty confident that all will be well. All the boys have been early E 37weeks, M & G 38 weeks to the day. So this time I will try to go 1 week longer and see what happens. The good news is that up to this point I don't get to a 5 or something and then POW here comes baby. I don't labor fast so time is on my side....I think???

Lauren and Miss A...

This is from a long time ago but Lauren and Addalyn came to town and we met up in Logan at
Great Grandma Clo's house and went swimming. All of the kids LOVED it to say the least. Grandma Kathy, Carloyn, Amber and Camden came too. We had a really fun time swimming together.

Also while Lauren and Addy were here we got to have everyone come to our house for a baby blessing. It was fun to have all of the cousins together. Actually we are missing Coraline but these kiddos sure were cute and had a lot of fun together. My boys LOVE little Preston and fight over who is going to hold him. Makes me excited to get our baby here. They will be good helpers. Addalyn is so CUTE! She is so cuddly and loves the boys. Everytime they would come into the room she would laugh and scoot over to them. She wanted to hug them and play with them. She is very lovable and soooo snuggly. Miss her, love her and can't wait to play with her again.

So far behind blogging...

But these boys are worth blogging about! Here are pictures of Easton's first day of kindergarten with Mrs. Pat and Masons first day of pre-school with Mrs. Carol. They are the cutest school boys ever. They both really love school and look forward to going. I just wish their days coordinated so I didn't have to make a trip to the school every day. They are just the cutest things EVER and so SMART!!!!

Lately they have been saying some pretty funny things and I wanted to share some of them.
We were at my dads house and saw something making a muss in the pond. It was a muskrat and Mason calls it MUSK-A-CRAB. He still says muskacrab even when we try to correct him.
Mason loves to look at my big prego belly and lately since I am getting bigger and my veins are getting more obvious. Even when I am not prego my veins are close to the surface of my skin but now they are quite visible. Any how Mason looks at my belly and with a surprise sound to his voice announces "MOM are those your stripes? You have stripes Mom." Love these stripes happy they are not stretch mark stripes at least these will go away.
Easton was playing with Mason and Hunter and I heard him say to them, "If you tell a fibble your nose will grow. I am serious it is true. My teacher Mrs. Pat taught us that. DON'T TELL FIBBLES!"
Easton-"MOM you are just like a Kangaroo. I say really why? Because Kangaroos carry their babies in their pouch on their tummy and so do you, so you are like a kangaroo."
I love the things they say. I need to be better at writing them down. I laugh so hard every day. Laughter is the best medicine.

Baby Update

My favorite photographer Heather Mickey took my last maternity session. I guess what you do for 1 you do for all. She always amazes me with what she is able to capture. Even when you feel HUMONGO and not at all pretty and your boys are running wild and covered in grass and stains, somehow she captures those precious moments that I will certainly cherish forever. This is my life as you see it. I can't imagine it getting any better, but somehow babies always seem to always make life better. I am so excited for my new little one to arrive.
I went to the Dr. yesterday and found out that we are right on schedule. I have had a TON of pressure and hoped it was doing something. I know it is early but for me that is the way it goes. I turned 34 weeks yesterday and was happy to find out I am thinning and already dilated to a good 1 not quite a 2. My Dr. estimated the baby would come around Nov. 15-16 or that week of. So right on schedule to be a couple weeks early like the others were. Knowing that all this uncomfortable pressure is making progress for me makes it all worth while. BRING IT ON! I think I am ready?... however I am not ready to be up all night. Definitely ready to love and hold my baby though. My boys are SOOO excited. It is so cute. So here we go on the downhill slide of things. We will welcome our little darling whenever it decides to make its day view.

PRESTON SCOTT JONES

HOW CUTE IS HE! We are so excitred to have Preston come to our family. He is so cute, cuddly and mellow. He hardly ever makes a peep. The boys ADORE him to say the least. I am a little behind on blogging but I am sure happy to post these pictures. He was born on Aug. 7, 2010 at 8:36pm, 8lbs 1oz and 21.5 inches long. He is so precious. He has long beautiful hair and I think he will get beautiful blues just like his Mom and Dad. Speaking of Meag and Chase they are both doing great and loving this little angel to pieces. CONGRATS you 3 we love you soo much. Wish you lived closer so we could see you more.

Solutions to Problems...

It is so nice when you get a solution to a problem. I have been soo tired and related it to life, 3 boys and pregnancy. But today i went to the doc. for my glucose test and found out that my glucose is fine but my iron is low. The missing link to my tired dilema. She gave me a supplement to take and told me to up the iron in my diet and I am feeling a little better already. I usually would need a nap in the middle of the day when the 2 littles ones were sleeping. But maybe I won't NEED one now I might just WANT it. Well see. However I love getting answers like this that can help.
I can't believe it but I have only 11-13 weeks until this little baby will join our family. If you say 3 months it sounds like a long time, but 11-13 weeks is soo fast. I have so much to do and my busy life just started. Garet is in the hunting season, I am doing all the Ranch office work for utah, and my 2 boys start school Monday. The time is going to fly. Also there is a good chance that this little one could make it's arrival early like the other 3 boys did. Making it's way to our family before the hunitng season ends. SO FUN!! I am getting very excited to hold my little baby. I bought some boy clothes and blankets and girl clothes and a blanket so we will see. verly exciting.

20 week ultrasound

I had my big ultrasound today. It was really fun and special since my tech. was my cousin Mandee. She pointed out everything to us and spent time with us. Our baby is adorable of course. I think it looks a little different than the others believe it or not. Our baby looks super healthy, is very active, has all fingers & toes, a healthy heart and both kidneys. The placenta is attched on the front so it is hard to feel movement and very hard to get an accurate heartbeat with the handheld doppler. It was cute the way our baby was drinking the fluid and kept it's mouth slightly open. Our baby loved to move and stretch its arms and legs. I didn't want to find out the sex of our baby so we will save the surprise until the end. I am a little bit confused now. I thought for sure I knew what it was, but now I am not 99.9% sure. I will hold off on placing orders until the arrival is closer. I want to make sure I can make returns if I need too. It was so special and fun. E & M loved seeing the baby on the monitor and have talked about it throughout the day. We are so excited and can't wait the arrival of our little mover. The ultrasound said the expected arrival is Nov. 29, 2010 instead of Dec. 1, 2010...well see I think it will be sooner. It was a great day and I can't wait to see our little one. I will post a picture of our baby soon.

CHEERS TO UNFORGETTABLE FRIENDS...

Our summer highlight was having our dear friends from Florida and Provo come up for a weekend. We had a FABULOUS time. We kicked the weekend off Thursday night with a yummy dinner, celebrating Christy's 30th birthday, and fireworks for the kiddos. Friday we went to the ranch for a fun ride looking at all the animals, then came home for lunch naps and all the adults went out for a date night. We went to Toads to play like we were 12 again. Laser tag, mini golf, arcades and many rounds on the speed track. Then we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was SOOO much fun. Many great thanks to my outstanding babysitters the Tatton girls for making it all possible. Saturday we continued all the memories by heading over to pineview. We rented waverunners, swam, and played on the beach for the day. The kids were exhausted to say the least so they went to bed early and we stayed up and played games and talked. THANKS A MILLION to our great friends for coming and making memories to last a lifetime. It is pretty amazing that we all have boys the same ages (8 between the 3 of us) and they get along so well. I wish we all lived closer so we could do this more often. Iwill definately be looking forward to our next get together. LOVE YOU GUYS! Thanks again.

Lake Powell 2010

We are so lucky to be able to go to Lake Powell with our good friends the Brothers family. We missed the past 2 years and were so happy to be back in action. We had a BLAST! What can go wrong with good food, good friends and good fun? NOTHING!! We hiked, ate, slept, played games, had fireworks, tubed, fished, went for boat rides, wake boarded, knee boarded, swam, went down the slide, had a water balloon game, played on the beach in the sand, and last but not least we found time to relax. It was so FUN! The spot we stayed in was PERFECT for kids. Great beach, plenty of room for the kids to swim without getting too deep. Shade in the morning and evening and sun in the day. It really was perfect and I enjoyed myself SO much. Thanks again Bry and Cecilie for another fun adventure together. We love spending time with you.
